Hospital commission complete

Here is the whole flock for the Mayo Clinic. They will hang in the new Jacobson Building pediatric family waiting area in Rochester, MN.
I have been working with an art advisory for the past six years who has placed my work in various projects for different hospitals. All done over the internet! I enjoy these projects and hope that my work is enjoyed by people during some difficult times.
Hard to tell from the pictures but there are three sizes, the largest 15x20" down to the smallest, 9x12". Check out  the process of the project--- I posted awhile back when I started the project, you can see the start of making them, and then again when I started painting them. Now pack and ship, yay!

Finished the Mayo Clinic commission-- a flock of birds

Big relief! I started to unload the kiln that is filled with the Mayo Clinic commission. Everything looks great, no cracks and the glazed developed beautifully. Image these all hanging together on a large lobby wall, a flock of birds!

My outdoor studio

Enjoying the season when it is still warm but no humidity, the best time of the year here in NC! Comet is never far away, waiting for his walk.

Someone sent me this today,

“This is what you shall do; Love the earth and sun and the animals, despise riches, give alms to every one that asks, stand up for the stupid and crazy, devote your income and labor to others, hate tyrants, argue not concerning God, have patience and indulgence toward the people, take off your hat to nothing known or unknown or to any man or number of men, go freely with powerful uneducated persons and with the young and with the mothers of families, read these leaves in the open air every season of every year of your life, re-examine all you have been told at school or church or in any book, dismiss whatever insults your own soul, and your very flesh shall be a great poem and have the richest fluency not only in its words but in the silent lines of its lips and face and between the lashes of your eyes and in every motion and joint of your body.”

Continuing with the hospital commission

These are the largest of the group. You can see by the nearby pencil how large they are.
The underglaze painting with a bit of carving. Later, after the bisque firing they will be layered with various glazes.
